JSA has recently completed a Social Impact Assessment for a licensed National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provider seeking to develop a group home for people with a disability in an existing four bedroom dwelling in northwest Sydney. The assessment considered all aspects of the proposal, including the site and its location to transport, services, shops and employment centres; the quality and appropriateness of the design and amenity of the dwelling for the proposed use; details of how the facility will be managed; review of the applicant’s policies and procedures related to delivery of support and facility management; and community need for a group home in the local area as per the requirements of the Affordable Rental Housing SEPP.
