Building Community Acceptance for Community Housing

JSA and award winning documentary filmmakers Why Documentaries are working together to tell the story of four newly built affordable housing developments in Sydney and regional NSW. The video stories feature tenants who call the new developments home, community housing providers, Council representatives and housing experts.

The documentary storytelling will be part of an easy to use online toolkit for practitioners, proponents and anyone interested in building acceptance for community and affordable housing.

The toolkit is part of a larger research project for the NSW Federation of Housing Associations, Building Community Acceptance for Community Housing, which aims to better understand the nature of and reasons for community opposition to affordable housing in order to develop strategies and mechanisms that build support for appropriate developments.
