Social Impact Assessment for Deniliquin Child Care Centre

By 2 March 2026No Comments

JSA has prepared a Social Impact Assessment for a proposed 110 place Child Care Centre in Deniliquin on behalf of local not-for-profit provider, River Region Early Education Ltd.
Access to childcare has been identified as an important priority by Edward River Council. There are reported to be more than 300 children on local waitlists for centre-based care in Deniliquin, representing more than 70% of children aged 0–5 years old without access to childcare places with the situation being described as a “childcare drought”.

The Assessment considered the locality context of the site, demographic and employment context, need and demand for child care places, safety and security context, and potential amenity impacts to and from the centre. The proposal was also assessed against the matters for consideration under Part 3 of the Child Care Planning Guideline.

The proposal will contribute to addressing the significant unmet need for care in the local area and support employment and economic growth in the Edward River LGA.
