JSA is undertaking an Economic Impact Assessment (EIA) for a proposed child care centre and medical centre in the Southern Riverina. There is currently a ‘childcare drought’ in regional NSW and a significant shortfall in GP services.
The EIA will consider:
- The economic benefits that the child care centre will create, such as addressing the childcare shortfall and the flow on effects of allowing parents to participate in the workforce and creation of new jobs in the Centre;
- The economic impacts of the Medical Centre including provision of new GP positions and administration staff; and
- The construction phase including creation of employment.
